Artists Statement
My work embodies the Pymble statement: I value diversity, my worth, and the worth of others. Through it, I explore the beauty of simplicity and the shared human desire for peace and connection. In a world that often feels complicated and competitive, I find meaning in the small things—like creating a daisy chain.
This act took me back to my childhood, sitting in a paddock, weaving daisies with quiet joy. In my artwork, a peace dove flies above, gently holding a daisy to add to three daisy chains below. It’s a symbol of unity—reminding us that despite our differences, we all yearn for the same simple things: love, peace, and belonging.
We are all human. We all deserve to be treated with respect. Misjudgment often stems from misunderstanding, and comparison can rob us of appreciation for our uniqueness. We are not meant to be the same—and how boring life would be if we were.
