I have an old workbench in my studio that I found in the shed a few years ago.
It is soaked with sump oil, grease, and lanoline.
The richness of the brown inspired this piece.
This workbench was never meant for holding a magnificent vase of flowers, but I saw beauty in it.
The notion that an old workbench or table can be dressed to hold beauty.
If only we would look a little deeper.....sometimes that's where the real beauty is held.
The vase of flowers holds a limited palette of flowers and greenery. It is always a challenge for me to stick to a limited palette but challenged, accepted and accomplished.
