Calming our ‘inner chatter’

Love letter for a Saturday Morning …. Calming that ‘Inner Chatter’….

You know what i am talking about…that crazy voice inside our heads…the one that likes to give their opinions on everything!!

Well this morning as i set off on my walk, i take notice of this ‘inner chatter . And i decide to see it in Black and White and maybe a few greys. Sometimes the more colour, the more abstract, the more complicated it can be.

To calm my ‘inner chatter’ i like to do a few things..
*i walk and clear my head (literally this morning as it is very breezy!!!)
*I lay on the floor with my legs elevated up the wall or rested on my bed…really, really love this one.
*i get creative…painting and drawing with music on
*i dance…arms above my head (heart rate up)
*i use all my senses and count at least 3. What can i see? what can i feel/touch? what can i taste? what can i hear? what can i smell?
*i take my shoes off and walk barefooted around…love this one too, it grounds me!
And if all of that doesn’t quite calm that ‘inner chatter’ i have a Gin!! (Only in the evenings!!)

But to be honest all of these work so well for me, sometimes i just need one and sometimes all of them. I suppose it is about knowing your own body and mind and to keep trying things to see what works for you.

Well that ‘inner chatter’ ‘is now calm and i can keep walking now. πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈπŸšΆβ€β™€οΈπŸšΆβ€β™€οΈ
